1) Are you currently in a serious relationship?
A. Yes

2) What was your dream growing up?
A. I had many. One of them was to be a writer.

3) What talent do you wish you had?
A. Writing.

4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
A. Something sweet with many ingredients.

5) Favorite vegetable?
A. Romanesco Cauliflower. If you don't know why, then chances are you've never seen one. Google it-- you won't be sorry. (BTW, I can't pick a favorite veggie to eat, which is what I assume the question meant-- I love squashes, peas, lima beans, avocados, and more)

6) What was the last book you read?
A. Um... I'm currently reading several. I think the last one I finished was a reread of "Kiss of Shadows" by L.K. Hamilton.

7) What zodiac sign are you?/ Can you cook?
A. Capricorn/ Yes, but I'd like to be better at it.

8) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.
A. 5 holes in my left ear, three in the right. No other piercing... and no tattoos yet.

9) Worst Habit?
A. *wince* Lots of them. Probably picking at zits and pores is my worst.

10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride?
A. I don't know. Depends on the circumstance, and what you looked like. Probably not, though.

11) What is your favorite sport?
A. To watch or play? The only one I've ever had any knack for playing is soccer. I love to watch figure skating.

12) Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude?
A. Yes.

13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
A. Get you laughing. Share stories and jokes. Offer you gum. Make origami from the wrapper.

14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
A. I don't really feel like lining up the lousy moments of my life for comparison. I've had food poisoning, gotten my heart broken, sat up all night in the ER with my boyfriend, and embarrassed the hell out of myself in ways I don't care to recall. One of those.

15) Tell me one weird fact about you.
A. I collect small things that look nifty-- from twigs to bottle tops, marbles to wax drippings. Maybe that should go under the "bad habit" listing.

16) Do you have any pets?
A. My cat lives with my mother. I currently live with my housemate's dog-- the cutey in my icon.

17) What if i showed up at your house unexpectedly?
A. Come on in! I'll cook something.

18) What was your first impression of me? (hmmm...careful!)
A.

19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary?
A. Neither, really.

20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
A. I have to pick just one? It's a tie between smaller, less-red nose and thicker, more-red hair. I guess I'll go with the hair, since I can kinda fix the nose with makeup.

A. Depends on the crime!

22) What color eyes do you have?
A. Green, with tones of brown and grey.

23) Ever been arrested?
A. Nope.

A. San Diego Zoo. I also adore bookstores, libraries, art museums, and almost anywhere in nature.

A. Read and hang out on LJ!

2.) Yes, but not as good as my mother yet, which means I suck.

3.) I had no specific dream; there were several in which I was a famous theatre actress or studying astronomy or teaching. The commonality between all of them, in hindsight, is that I mostly wanted to be happy and doing something to better the lives of those around me.

20.) They've freaked me out since before I can remember. I've always been very uneasy about people in costumes which exaggerate or hide certain humanoid aspects, which means people dressed as Mickey at Disney World don't scare me. But Santa? Hell, every picture I see of myself on the mall Santa's lap, from two weeks of age to five, I'm completely petrified.

21.) Seeing as I'm going to be getting my nose changed shortly (which is a medical need, anyways), I think I'd like to be just a bit skinnier.

OK, here goes. My answers, although I suspect you already knew how I would respond to most of them:

1) Are you currently in a serious relationship?
A.Yes

2) What was your dream growing up?
A.To build and drive NASCAR stock cars, and to become an engineer. I have been fortunate enough to do both.

3) What talent do you wish you had?
A.I wish I were more musical. I can read music and play a bit but it just doesn't flow.

4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
A.Pop. Unless you're trying to get me drunk and take advantage of me, then it would be a sweet fruity girly drink *bats eyelashes*

5) Favorite vegetable?
A.I really wanted to make an inappropriate joke here but I couldn't think of a single person in a vegetative state. So I'll say "potato". Unpretentious, useful, versatile.

6) What was the last book you read?
A.Something by John Grisham. I'm reading "Atlas Shrugged" now, though.

7) What zodiac sign are you? I don't care because I don't believe in these. I'm replacing this one with "Can you cook?
A.Absolutely. Just this weekend I smoked a whole pork shoulder and made pulled pork, and I made sort of a redneck stir-fry thing (beef, vegetables, seasonings) that is awesome when stuffed into a pita bread! Both are wonderful even reheated, they will be lunch/dinner for the week.

8) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.
A.No. And none are planned either.

9) Worst Habit?
A.I pull at my nails, and I can't leave blackheads alone.

A.Depends on if I recognized you.

A.I really don't follow sports. I used to be a very good bowler, and I used to race Stock Cars semi-professionally, gosh that makes me sound so blue-collar lol!

A.I'm a realist with a hopeful streak.

A.I'm sure we would have a fascinating conversation.

14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
A.Watching my dad go through the stages of Alzheimer's Disease. Being notified of my mother's death by voice mail, two days after the funeral. Most physically painful was probably kidney stones.

15) Tell me one weird fact about you.
A.I have a gift for trivia. My head is full of totally useless minutiae.

16) Do you have any pets?
A.A female Boston Terrier

A.I would give you a huge hug and invite you in.

A.It's difficult to separate my current impression of you from my initial impression, but I remember thinking you were sweet and maybe a bit hard on yourself, and I remember being very impressed with how interesting you were and how much we had in common the first time we talked.

A.Maybe a bit creepy, but I never really think of it.

20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
A.I would lose weight and be more toned. I would say "be about 20 years younger, but that's not really about how I look.

A.Both. Either, depending on the situation. I can be an instigator at times but I'm basically a big ol' 'fraidy cat.

A.Light brown

OK, I was too wordy and it cut me off. Here are the rest:

A.I would love to pick you up and go to the park, or zoo, or a gallery, or just walking on the beach. Someplace where you're comfortable, so you would open up and just be yourself and talk. I love how our conversations always lead off on these fascinating tangents, I would enjoy having an entire day of that. Learning about you, feeling you comfortable with me and just being yourself. Totally yourself. After the outing, dinner. A drink, two max. If it's warm out, I would retrieve a blanket from the car and sit on the grass someplace and talk more. Or on a front porch.

25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?
A.Pay debt.

27) What's your favorite place to hang at?
A.I love the mountains. It would be a cabin in the woods on the side of a mountain. As long as I had food to cook, books to read, a hot tub, and someone to share all those with with me I wouldn't need to leave.

28) Do you believe in ghosts?
A.Not ghosts per se. But I think there are aspects of the physical world we don't yet understand.

A.Read, relax, research historical race cars.

OK, here goes. My answers, although I suspect you already knew how I would respond to most of them:

A.I wish I were more musical. I can read music and play a bit but it just doesn't flow.

Me too, very much so! I think of music as a language I don't speak. However, as I've grown older, I've come to have more of an appreciation for it, I think. Like wine, you have to learn to like the complexity of it. At least I'm not tone-deaf-- I think I have a pretty good ear.

4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?

I love how our conversations always lead off on these fascinating tangents, I would enjoy having an entire day of that. Learning about you, feeling you comfortable with me and just being yourself. Totally yourself. After the outing, dinner. A drink, two max. If it's warm out, I would retrieve a blanket from the car and sit on the grass someplace and talk more. Or on a front porch.

*Laughs* Why is everyone so convinced that I'd panic in a stuck elevator? Unless it was unbearably crowded or I desperately needed to use the bathroom, I can't imagine that I'd mind at all. I'm certainly not claustrophobic. The deep conversation sounds like fun, too.

You have my complete sympathy on your worst experiences. Medical stuff sucks.

You're far braver than I. I'd stay put and use the elevator phone to call for help. Then I'd probably hum or sing to stay calm. I don't like being in unpredictable situations. Being trapped with other people gives rise to a wide number of possibilities, and I probably can't think of them all. For all I know, one of the people in the elevator is a hair-trigger temper and flips out at us. Yeah, I'm gonna stop thinking about this now. No need to borrow worry.

For my whole family to get along and to live on the same street in houses right next to each other. I didn't want my parents to get back together or anything like that, I just wanted to be able to freely go from house to house to visit and be with people whenever we wanted to see each other. You know, so holidays wouldn't suck.

also I wanted to grow up to be a superhero with the ability to save people and fly. I wanted to be one of the X-Men, actually. but then I had to face the fact that this would not happen. I figured at the time, hey, Jules Verne wrote about submarines and H.G. Wells wrote about trips to the moon, and that happened, so maybe someday a bunch of us will all sprout totally awesome mutant powers and giant breasts and look good in spandex. didn't happen. so much for speculative fiction.

Most excellent answers, thank you! Your favorite drink looks like one I ought to try and find. And as far as your favorite vegetable, I'm rather surprised that I didn't think of onions myself. Of course, I almost consider onions and garlic as "spices" more than veggies.

I've never even heard of it, but you won't find me being picky. I'm not much for sports myself. I should have put down "Scrabble" as my own favorite.

I can identify as a "grammar Nazi" as well, though I've certainly mellowed quite a bit since learning more about linguistics (*coughs* and since my memory isn't what it used to be in grade school).
